Jeff McClusky & Associates, a renowned entertainment promotion and artist development firm, organizes a high-profile after-show event each year during Lollapalooza. The event not only features emerging and established musical talent but also serves a greater purpose by supporting the Special Olympics.
I was brought on to design key visuals for the 2023 after-show, including a bold, eye-catching event poster and merchandise prints. The primary goal was to create materials that would stand out in a saturated festival landscape while reflecting the styles of the featured artists.

Designing visuals for a music event tied to a major festival like Lollapalooza required a careful balance between artistic creativity and brand alignment. Each of the three headlining artists had distinct aesthetics and fan bases, so the artwork needed to appeal to a wide audience while still feeling cohesive. Additionally, the designs had to feel current within the fast-evolving visual trends of the music industry and resonate in both print and merch formats.

I began by researching visual trends in music promotion, including poster art, album covers, and festival branding. I also explored each artist’s existing marketing material to identify shared themes, color palettes, and stylistic elements. Using this insight, I developed an abstract, energetic visual language that merged vibrant colors and expressive typography.

The final deliverables successfully captured the essence of the event. The poster stood out visually among other Lollapalooza-related promotions and resonated with fans of all three artists. Merch table prints were well-received, contributing to the overall event aesthetic and enhancing audience engagement. The work not only elevated the after-show’s visual identity but also demonstrated my ability to blend industry research, artist branding, and event-specific storytelling into a unified and impactful design system.
